Esmeralda graduated from UCLA in June 2024 with a major in English and minors in both professional writing and Mexican studies. During her time at UCLA, she was involved with the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute, UCLA’s Latinx Pre-Law Association, and the non-profit Prison Education Project. Now as a first-year evening student at LLS, Esmeralda also works as a fragrance specialist at a major retailer and as a part-time law clerk at a private litigation firm. She hopes to one day use her law degree to advocate for marginalized and Spanish-speaking communities. Outside of academics and work, Esmeralda enjoys creative writing, reading, and baking.
